Option 1: Madrid of the Austrias

On this tour, students will have the opportunity to explore the Plaza de Oriente and learn about the impressive sculpture of Felipe IV. They will discover the grandeur of the Royal Palace and stroll through the beautiful Sabatini Gardens.

We will explore the Temple of Debod, a gift from Egypt to Spain, and visit the historic Plaza de España. The walk will continue along Calle Factor, the emblematic Plaza de la Villa and the famous Mercado de San Miguel. Students will also visit the Plaza Mayor and enjoy the gastronomic variety in the Cava de San Miguel, to finally conclude at Puerta del Sol where we will return to the agreed meeting point.

We will explore the Rose Garden, a garden full of colors and fragrances, and visit the Fallen Angel, an intriguing sculpture with a fascinating history.

The walk will continue along the picturesque wooded trails, giving students the opportunity to appreciate the flora and fauna of the park. They will also stop at the beautiful Parterre, a precisely designed geometric garden.

The walk will continue towards the old Juan Cuesta printing press and the Trinitarias church, where Cervantes was buried. Students will learn about the history of the neighborhood and its crucial role in the Spanish Golden Age.

Option 4: Walking Tour Madrid Essential

Embark on the “Essential Madrid Walking Tour” and discover the most emblematic places in the city center. We will start at Puerta del Sol, the heart of Madrid and from there, we will go to the Plaza Mayor, an architectural jewel that has been the scene of important events throughout the history of Madrid.

We will continue exploring the streets of Madrid de los Austrias, immersing ourselves in the historic architecture. The route will take us to the Plaza de la Villa, where we will discover the historical wealth surrounded by buildings with centuries of history.

Continuing our tour, we will enter the Plaza de Oriente, where we will admire the sculpture of Felipe IV and enjoy the view of the Royal Palace. Then, we will go to the Plaza de España, where students will be able to see the fountain dedicated to Miguel de Cervantes.

The walk will take us along the famous Gran Vía, known for its shops, restaurants and theaters, offering a glimpse of Madrid’s urban life. Finally, we will arrive at the Plaza de Callao, from where students can enjoy this busy place. From Plaza de Callao, we will return to the meeting point, thus closing this tour of the most essential places in Madrid.
